The Schocken is a particularly popular dice game in Westphalia and Rhenish, which is often played in pubs as a drinking game by at least two players. It is common for the loser of a game to pay for the next round of beer. In Hesse this game is also known under the name Jule, in Lower Saxony also as Mörkeln or Knobeln, in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg as Maxen and in the city region Aachen as Jungle DeLight Meiern (not to be confused with Mäxchen).
